South to South Learning Programme
In Dadu district, many children have no real access to education and in addition face food insecurity, malnutrition, and lack of shelter; to help address some of these issues we have opened 6 new schools in the district, to start children on the basic road to education.
Part of our role is to ensure a good quality syllabus, which discourages stereotype gender roles, and militarisation. The curriculum will also include leisure activities such as storytelling and other creative games.
Additionally, we shall be assisting capacity building for parents on health and hygiene, child psychology, physical growth of their child, and discipline, as well as training school teachers on modern methods of teaching. The schools supported are also being encouraged to publish an educational magazine in their local language. The project is supported by CWS International.
